August 16, 2011

Hey Mom,
I am doing fine. The other day my companion got hit by car, he wasn't hurt at all. I fell again on my bike and ruined my only pair of suit pants. At least now i have a suit to burn at the end of my mission. I already have a tie and pair of pants to burn at the 6 month and 18 month marks. Anyways I better go.
Love you very much,
Elder Huston

Hey Mom,
I am doing okay. Most of the the appointments went through, one or two of them fell through though. I did buy a new bike, it is amazing, it was originally going to be $350 but it had a 25% off tag on it and when i brought in the old bike, told them i had bought it there and showed that it had broken in half, they took off even more from the original price, so i got it for $200 instead. I will send you pics next week maybe. I got it at Play it Again Sports, and I have not met bro. Pishls dad because i don't think he is in our area.
I don't get checks from the church, we get a JP Morgan/Chase card that we get a monthly alottment on, which is around $145. We don't pay rent since we live in a Visa Waiter's apartment. We do usually shop at walmart, but only on Tuesday's. For some reason my support card denies any charges to it, even though it has almost $100 on it, so my amazing companion paid for my lunch and groceries. I love him so much because of that. But, I need to pay him back some how.
We do have our own washer and dryer in our apartment. The temple would be beautiful if it wasn't go through heavy remodeling. It won't be open until around this time next year. The closest working temple is in Twin Falls, which is a 2 1/2 hour drive from Boise. The mission office is in our area, actually it is right next to the temple. And we are literally just down the street from the temple. It stinks that is going under renovations right now. Well i better go, please tell people to send me snail mail.
Love,
Elder Zach Huston

Boise Idaho Mission office

Dear Missionary Parents:

We are especially grateful for your son’s safe arrival to the Idaho Boise Mission and consider ourselves blessed to have this opportunity to serve with him and all the other elders and sisters here in Idaho and Oregon. This is clearly a very special mission. We are blessed with noble young elders and sisters, wonderful members and much success. We will do all we can to watch over, care for and build Elder Huston as we move this important work forward.

We have enjoyed getting some photographs with our new arrivals. Attached are two photos with your missionary: one with my wife and me and one with his trainer, Elder Taylor. We hope you receive this email in good health and hope you enjoy the pictures.

With love and appreciation,

President and Sister Cannon

Hey there,
So it turns out that my foot is not broken, I got an xray and it is fine, but it still hurts. I went to a baptism Thursday, it was not one of our investigators though. But we got a baptism date set up for an Islamic man named Moaid. And we have a couple of kids that want to get baptized, and we already have 3 people who are ready to get baptized but we have to send a letter to the First Presidency to get the okay because they are on parole. I have not bought a new bike yet, my bike got welded back together by a kind man in one of our wards. But I need to get a new bike because I need a bigger bike to ride on. The wards are pretty cool, we have Franklin Park Ward, Orchard Ward, and (my favorite) Bitteroot Ward. The reason it is my favortie is because most of our investigators are in it and we have a super awesome ward missionary, Bro. Lee.
Tell McKenzie that she will be alright, there is nothing to worry about. Just make sure she takes Choir, Seminary, and FFA and she will be fine. I really miss you guys. But please send me more letters. Also for my missionary plaque use either JS-History 1:28, Doctrine and Covenants Section 4, or Moses 1:39. In your spare time look up Jeremiah 4:19-20, it is hilarious. Well I better get going.
Love you all,
Elder Zachary Huston
